Snowmobile Accidents

Every winter in Michigan thousands of individuals are attracted to the state’s trail system to enjoy an exciting ride on a snowmobile.  Snowmobiling can and should be a safe activity, yet there are snowmobile accidents resulting in extremely serious injuries and deaths.  All of these cases could have been prevented if proper safety precautions were followed.

It is estimated that in excess of 100 people die every year while riding snowmobiles, and there are thousands of hospital emergency room visits as a result of snowmobile accidents.  Snowmobile accidents often result from the negligent operation of a snowmobile by others, inclusive of a driver traveling at excessive speeds or under the influence of alcohol.  The Michigan Department of Natural Resources offers extensive safety courses for individuals.  Although it is not mandatory for everyone to take such a course, it is highly recommended that they do.  If the rules of the safety courses that are available would be followed, there would be fewer accidents and deaths being caused on the snowmobile trail system in Michigan.  Mr. Elliott is an experienced snow mobile driver and has first-hand knowledge as to not only snowmobile rules, regulations, and statutes, but also how dangerous it can be driving a snowmobile if those using our state’s trail system are not careful.  If you or someone you know has been injured in a snowmobile accident in Michigan as a result of the negligence of another, whether you are a driver or a passenger, please contact my office.
